TAKAMIYA RYOKAN MIYAMASO

A Traditional Ryokan Located in the Zao Onsen Area

Unwind in the timeless embrace of history and hot springs.

For over three centuries since its founding in 1716, our ryokan has stood in quiet harmony with the hot-spring village of Zao Onsen. Drawn from our own natural spring, each open-air bath invites you to bathe in the spirit of the mountains.
Embraced by deep forest and tranquil views, rediscover stillness beyond the flow of time.
Within each season’s shifting light, the scent of the trees and the whisper of the wind evoke a sense of Japan’s timeless beauty.
Here, the soul finds rest, and the passage of time itself feels gently suspended.

ONSEN

ONSEN

Natural spring, untouched and pure.

Drawn directly from deep within the earth, the water flows freely—never filtered, never recirculated.
Its warmth carries the living minerals of the mountain, wrapping the body in a softness only nature can create.
In the quiet steam, you can feel the rhythm of the spring itself—a pulse of life unchanged for centuries.
Here, the purity of the water becomes a quiet luxury, a place where nature restores both body and spirit.
Simple. Timeless. Deeply restorative.

CUISINE

Seasonal cuisine crafted from the bounty of the mountains.

Rooted in the rich traditions of Yamagata, our kaiseki cuisine brings together the finest local ingredients and time-honored techniques.
Each dish is delicately prepared to reveal the pure flavors of the season, celebrating the mountain’s quiet abundance.
A dining experience where craftsmanship and nature meet in perfect harmony.
As the final course fades, only a quiet sense of gratitude remains — a moment of serenity found through taste.
